Be Careful !!!!!

I am writing this first to our own family, and then to all that have guns. Be careful!! We read a story today about a young newlywed couple of three months, home schooled, courtship and all, experienced a tragic accident this weekend. They were shooting skeets on Sat., and on Saturday evening he was cleaning his gun in their apartment and there was an unknown shell in the gun and the gun went off and he shot his precious wife in the shoulder, later she died. I am not a gun person, but with all these guys, that changed. We have a lot of guns and I have always not liked them. I know you can be careful, this couple was I am sure. It just made my heart so sad and wanted to mention it that we might pray for these families. And for us all to be careful!!!

Here's the story

Thank you for sharing the article. I think it often times becomes so easy for gun owners to "let their guard down" and become complacent about gun safety.

That is such a sad story. I agree, safety is VERY important. My uncle was shot when a gun that was loaded in the corner of a shed fell over, when he was a teenager. It damaged his face and he lost an eye to it, he has a glass eye. Funny thing is, to this day he is STILL a gun owner! But he is much more careful.

Thank you so much for posting this. I completely agree. I have always had a dislike for guns since having had children. I was raised with and around them from birth and my family have always been hunters. Then I married Brad who was raised like I have been and hunted himself. So, of course, that is what our children are doing now...despite my trepidations about it all. We are always so careful about locking them up, keeping them unloaded, safeties on and all but you can just never be too safe as far as I am concerned. I do not live in fear by any means but there is a lot of wisdom and responsibility that goes along with owning a gun and there is a deep respect for the gun itself and the handling of it. Thank you again for your reminder.

We read that yesterday and have been praying for the families and especially for the young man! My heart is heavy for him!!! We're thankful for the Lord's protection thus far, and pray that He continues to protect us and grant us wisdom as we "keep and bear arms"!
