mercy......

sayings of a 3-year old:

"mommy, Miah says I am a goober!"

"I love you, mommy, all the way to moon and never, never stop!"
"I wanna snuggle with you, mommy."
" 'venture is out there!"
"I'm gonna be the same size when I get 4."
"i wanna go to heaven and see Balley!"

On Friday, our little Mercy will begin, Lord willing, her 4 th year! March 19th, 17 hours of labor (my longest,) birthed at home and our 13th blessing! Three sweet years will be behind her. Sometimes its hard to think of how she was here when Joel was here. What a big brother he was even at 2 1/2 at her birth!!!! Looking back at pictures this morning reminded me of how she has "lived" out her name in these last three years. She has been a "mercy" in my sorrow, she has been sunshine in my storm, she has been a candle in my darkness, she has brought laughter in the midst of tears, she has kept me on my toes when all I really wanted to do was "pull the covers over my head." I am so thankful for her life! I am blessed when she snuggles against my back in bed and asks me to tell her stories of Joel, I am blessed when she smothers me with "professional lip kisses, head turned side ways and all," I am blessed as I watch her sleeping and see the frizzy hair, the sprawled out arms, the rise and fall of "life" within her, I am blessed when when she talks "too big for her britches!" What a "Mercy" she has been!!!

Now to capture some of her three years.........

What a tremendous blessing she is! God is so good. He knows exactly what we need - when we need it!

"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's MERCIES we are not consumed, b/c His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion says my soul. Therefore, I hope in Him!"
Lamentations 3:21-28

Those are adorable pics of Mercy (and family).

Ok girl, you've got me in tears! What a beautiful post. (I am so very sorry for your loss in Joel...I just read that the other day and my heart broke into a million pieces for y'all) Your Mercy looks a lot like him in the pouty picture! What a blessing God gave you in her at just a time as this. She kinda reminds me of a certain someone???

I am thrilled to see that you have a blog...and for 4 yrs now?! I have a LOT of reading to do. ; ) I better get a huge kettle to hold all the tea I'll need as I read!
OH...I'd be delighted to come Friday to the Tea party, however, my private jet is in the shop. lol I really would come if I could...really! How fun. Did you know I became a teacher? I also worked with 3 & 4 yr olds in college...what a fun age!

Your photos are amazing girl! You have an amazing eye and great timing. Some day I'll have a real camera and maybe you'll teach me all your tricks???

Hey...thanks for stopping by to 'sit a spell' on my blog.

BTW...beautiful family
