on the home front

Well, everything is fairly quiet on the home front today! Jeremiah is a bit under the weather, but he did go out in the pasture and played a little football! Bethany is waiting for a fellow from Arizona to come pick a Boer buck up that she sold. Tomorrow we will take in 4 boer wethers to get butchered. A lot of meat for the freezer! The Tulsa State fair is on the burner for the weekend, its the Boer show this time. Bethany is hoping to get her papers back in for the new buck she just purchased on Sat. so she can show him! She made a new post on her blog and tells you about him. The guys are still framing but heavy rain is due in this evening and all day tomorrow so they will likely be here. Terry, Micah and Andrew are at another job site taking down braces. We are extra blessed with all these "guys" that can work!! I am suppose to go grocery shopping tomorrow. I am trying right now to make my lists and all, but nothing sounds good. I am excited to get the paint and glaze for the girls room when I go out tomorrow. The beds are not ready yet but hopefully it will only be another week or so. Mercy SAYS she is going to sleep in hers, we'll see :) When I get it all done, I'll post before/after pictures. Remember the tomatoes? I got them in the freezer. There were sooo many, I decided the easiest process would be freeing. We need to go pick again today!!!

Thats about it for now, I'll leave you with some pictures..........

We lost power right when we were ready to publish this, around 5pm, so a bit delayed Its about 7:20pm now......Terry hooked up the generator, so we have cords, water and can use the bathroom and the internet!!!! :)

Hope ya'll have power back now! Let us know if you need anything!
You mentioned Miah being sickish... we got your four jars filled at my mom's tonight! :) Prayerfully, that will help!
The pics are cute! I really like that last one of Siah and Hosie!

Last year we had major "load shedding" they called it. We had no power every second day for 6 hours at a time. There was a shortage of power (never mind the fact that SA were selling massive amounts to Zimbabwe!!) It seems to have been sorted out now though and they have promised no power cuts this year! :)
What happy photos today! Have a blessed day, with love from SA!

How do you like the Boer meat processed? (ground, stew meat, etc.) Also, how old are the wethers that you're having butchered?

Any favorite recipes to share?
