"Walk by Faith"

Joel’s blood pressure rose slightly in the night. The last check it was 76/31. His heart rate is currently 125 and his oxygen saturation is 88. One concern for prayer this morning is his fluid retention. The Lord has sustained him for over two weeks now, and we trust that the mighty God of Jacob will show himself strong in Joel’s life. All that the Lord Jesus needs to do is speak the word, and it shall be done.

During this trial, someone quoted the scripture, “we walk by faith and not by sight”. That is our desire, to walk by faith, and not by sight. The doctors here feel that there is no hope for Joel. They walk by sight, and all they see is a little boy with no hope. We seek to walk by faith, and we see the God of heaven who states “Is there anything too hard for the Lord?” We know that God, who created Joel’s life, can sustain it and raise him up to walk again.

Psalm 138:7-8: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Psalm 18: 1-6: I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
