"Under the Shadow of Thy Wings"

We need your prayers for Joel tonight. His blood pressure has dropped today and is a real concern for prayer. His hemoglobin is acceptable at 9.6, and his heart rate is 127. We would also ask that you pray about his fluid retention. He is experiencing some swelling around his eyes and also the rest of his body. We know that the LORD can handle all of these things and we are casting our cares upon Him. Thanks to so many of you that are standing with us in prayer and faith.

Here are a few verses that were meaningful to me today. Psalm 17: 7-9: “Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, from the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.”

There are small steps that are being taken towards us leaving the hospital. May the Lord work out all the details in His time. He has sustained Joel two weeks since he had the seizures around midnight on January 4. I am so grateful for my little boy, and for his life that is precious to me, and to the Lord.

Dearest Cindy and Terry,
I have been praying for you throughout the day today. Your family is in my thoughts continually. I am just reminded of Christ’s mercy, in so many ways, but specifically tonight that He has granted you both salvation. That you are able to rest in the comfort and hope of our Mighty Savior, knowing full well that He can, if He chooses, heal precious Joel. Knowing also He is Sovereign and that even if He does not, it is still for our good and His Glory. I remember thinking when Genevieve was in the hospital, how can this be glorifying to God? I was so weak and broken, humbled before my Majesty, my King, crying and asking, Lord how can I even ask of you healing for my daughter, when you have already given so much, your own son's life, for me?. You are already so merciful and gracious to me. But Lord, in spite of the fact that I do not deserve this, can you please, will you please, spare her life, for my sake. He reminded me of Abraham with his precious son Isaac. He put willingness in my heart. Willingness to accept His will. If His will might be that in my daughter’s death, one might be brought to their knees and be saved, oh Lord, make my heart willing. Give me a heart like yours. Refine me.
Tonight is the second year anniversary of my Genevieve being officially “brain dead”. This very night two years ago we began the similar trial you have faced for the last thirteen days. I have been and will continue to pray that the Lord’s mercy be in the form of life for little Joel as it was for Genevieve. Our God is fully able. He is also gracious and will grant the grace to your hearts to endure this time. I hope & will pray that you may be encouraged, what ever the Lord’s will be for you and Joel. Please do not hesitate to call if there is anything I can do.
All my love in Christ,
Kelley
Soli Deo Gloria,

Thank you for the update. I awoke this morning about 430 with Joel on my heart. God has placed him close there for a purpose, and it seems that he is constantly coming to mind so that I can lift him and his family in prayer. I asked the Lord {again} what battle are we really fighting and thanked him for the victory! Joel is an instrument in a plan that the Lord has yet to show us, but I truly believe we may not see all of it in our lifetime. May the Lord grant you peace and strength, ... and a measure of joy ... as you walk through this valley. Remember you are NOT alone. God Bless -- Michelle Crook & family, Kansas

Terry & Cindy,
May this be the day that GOd shows Himself even greater to you than He already has! God is good and merciful and Almighty ~ may He reveal all this and more to you as you continue on with Joel.
We lift you up and prayer without ceasing that through this all your joy be made complete and your hearts remain safely in the hands of the Lord!

I am checking in with Joel this morning to find out his condition. Still praying for him to recover. I am also praying for his dear family and I know what you are going through right now and it is so important for you to have loved ones that support you. May you all be blessed as you are on the front lines in this battle. I cannot help but think of Carolyn and Jay as Grandparents and how difficult it is for them also.

May God's Love be upon all of you!
