"Save, Lord..."

Joel is now trying out the home ventilator. He went on the new vent yesterday around 5:00 PM. If all goes well, we may be able to go home early next week. He still has considerable swelling in his body, his heart rate is 136, his blood pressure is 78/35 and his oxygen saturation is 98 %. His urine output seems to be improved. He is taking his nutrition well, but he had a couple of episodes yesterday where his heart rate dropped and we had to suction his respirator tube quickly.

We are still trying to find some home nursing care to help once we take Joel home. The fact that he is going home with a tube is a concern, but the hospital would not do a tracheotomy, so we really have no choice. Please pray that the Lord will keep his tube right where it needs to be. Pray that the Lord will provide all that we need to care for him at home and that the Lord will raise Him up according to His will.

Psalm 20 was a real blessing this morning. Here is the Psalm:

The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble: the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.

There are times that we get weary, but the Lord renews our strength. Please hold us up to the throne, and pray for the Mighty God of Jacob to do wondrous things in Joel’s life.

We have experienced some difficulty getting connected to the internet to update the blog and check e-mails. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support.

After checking the blog several times today, I was joyous to see God has kept Joel with you for another day. I pray for a nursing service to come forward and help you at home care for Joel and his special needs. Keep the Faith. Prayers going up for Joel often.

Brandon and I have not had much time on the computer lately, but we check on Joel daily and pray for him and your family without ceasing.

I am so glad he may be able to go home soon, to be surrounded by those who love him and desire his safety.

I wa so elated when I read the update. The Lord has worked such a miracle in little Joel. He is such a little fighter. I know the Lord will answer your need for the home nursing. This has been such a battle for you and your family and your faith has grown stronger and you have helped others build their faith. I know this is hard and you do get weary but when you feel weary please remember the poem (Footprints in the Sand):One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."
