"Light in the darkness"

Joel is struggling this morning. The swelling in his body has seemed to increase and he is not taking his nutrition as well as he was yesterday. His heart rate is 145 and his oxygen level is 92. He also has more fluid that has to be suctioned out more often than several days ago. He has not had a bowel movement in several days. And yet we still wait upon the Lord.

Psalm 112:4 says this, “Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.” Right now we seem to be in the darkness, with Joel declining in several areas. It is sometimes hard to walk through this darkness. God’s word says here that light will arise in the darkness unto the upright. We know that we are not upright in ourselves, but only through the blood of Jesus and his cleansing. We look for that light to arise today. We are also sure that the Lord is gracious, and that he is full of compassion and that he is righteous. We stand on these truths of God’s word.

I remember the words of Betsey Ten Boom to her sister Corrie years ago in a dark situation in their lives. She said to Corrie, “There is no pit so deep, that He is not deeper still.” We know that He is able to sustain us even in the midst of this deep and dark trial.

We need your prayers for strength, for wisdom, and for Joel’s healing by the touch of the master’s hand, or even simply by his word. '

Oh Lord, I ask that you give this family strength as they walk this road with you, wisdom to make the choices you want them to make, and Lord, I ask that you will heal this little one. Please reach out and touch little Joel and heal his body. Please speak the word and make it so.

In the name of Christ, Amen

Faithfully praying for your son,

We are continually praying for your family. I am reminded of a chorus that has helped me in hard times - it is "No matter the storm that comes my way, no matter the trials I might face, you've promised that you will see me through, so I will trust in you."
God will see you through this and give you the strength you need to carry on the fight for little Joel until he is healed.

We are praying for you guys. Our Lord is Mighty and Glorious. I pray you will rest in His Glory today knowing HE IS the Lord who made us from the dust and He can heal Joel if it is His will.

...thus says the Lord, who created you...and He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I AM the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:1-3

Please call me if you need anything. Night or day, when ever you have a moment, if you need Anything.

Your sister in Christ,
Kelley

Praying for you. Just off of a 12 hour shift at the hospital where I have related your story to several. A spirit filled nurse related in a way that only she could "The last I knew the Lord Jesus sat at the right hand of God- not any doctor..." - even as much as some doctors think they are gods, our Lord is in control even when everyone around us seems to think they are. May it be the Lord's will that little Joel be sustained, may God bless the tube that carries oxygen to his body, and may he deliver medical intuition to you who will care for him at home, and may Joel's story continue to touch people who hear it and bring them closer to a love of people, a love and appreciation for human life, and closer relationship with our Creator.
