Joel took a trip today from one side of the hospital to a new building where they are moving the PICU here at Children’s Hospital. It was a busy morning getting everything ready to go. We are in our new room and he is doing well.. His heart rate is 125; his oxygen level is 95%, which is the best it has been for some time. His last blood pressure was 77/36, and his urine output seems to have increased over the last few hours.

We are expecting to start training on a home ventilator very soon. As soon as we can get Joel comfortable on the home ventilator, we should be able to take him home. We currently do not have a nursing service, or a nurse to help when we get home. That is a concern, but the Lord has sustained us thus far, and He can provide what we need after we get home. Any one who thinks they might could help meet that need, please e-mail us with the information.

This morning I read Joel some verses out of the book of Luke. In one of the passages, Jesus asked the question relating to the Sabbath. He asked if we should save life, or destroy it on the Sabbath. Obviously, the answer was that we should save life, not destroy it. That is the principle that we are trying to uphold here. We are trying to save Joel’s life, and not destroy it. We also trust the LORD to heal Joel according to his will. We know that one word from Him and it shall be done.

There are so many things to pray for Joel. His swelling is still a concern. Also pray for his blood pressure, and that he will adapt to the home ventilator quickly. Thanks again for all of your support.

Good news. I am glad you will be taking him home soon. I hope you start your training soon for the home vent, it took us 3 weeks of classes before we could take Emma home. They told us 3 weeks of class is required, even though we had it down in 2 days. I hope they will make an exception for you guys so you can get little Joel hom.

Hey guys,
We are continuing to pray for y'all. We are praying for Joel's blood pressure, swelling, and new ventilator. We are also praying for your family; for your patience, peace, joy, and strength. We have been amazed to see how many people have already been affected by Joel and the rest of your family, and we are excited about what God has in store yet. Your perseverance and faith is a testimony to the one true God. Be encouraged! This moment He is holding all of creation together, and we know that includes Joel. Praise be to the Almighty Jehovah God!

I was reading Psalm 20 this morning, and thinking of you all. After Ken read your update of yesterday out loud last night before we shut down the computer, we prayed for you and Joel.

In Christ,

Believe me, it is God's will to heal. When Jesus encountered the sick man who said "I know you can heal if you will", Jesus replyed "I am willing." He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
