Work Wrought on a Wheel.....

How am I (we) making it these 17 months without Joel.....Ps. 68:28,Thy God hath commanded thy strength, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us. One of the greatest comforts I receive from the Lord is the continual affirmation that this is "his work that he has wrought for us." Wrought has the idea of some work, ordained, planned. Being the recipient of this work that the Lord has wrought for us has been ever so difficult, but when I have truth to bring my mind and emotions to, there are moments of peace, hope and I can find a sense to move ahead. So this morning as that truth swept over my heart and washed it, I am finding strength to lean into this trial. I read this verse as well this morning, Jer.18:3, Then I went down to the potters house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. The Lord has something in mind, it is a work, his work, and he is turning the wheels. The next verse says, and the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter:so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. For a short time in one sense I was a potter for Joel, seeking to nourish, train, love him with my hands, I wanted to mold him, we had dreams and desires for his life, and it is like our time came to an end of molding his earthly clay so He, the Lord made Joel in to another vessel, a heavenly one this time, as it seemed good for the Master Potter to make it. Like I said, as the Lord gives these "stepping stones," of truth I get on it and look for the next. One other scripture gave me a "sort of answer" to trials we face, Ex.10 1-2, And the Lord said unto Moses, go in unto Pharoah: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these signs before him: And thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know that I am the Lord. Someday, maybe this trial, this work that is being wrought for us in our Egypt, will be told to others in our family and maybe the Lord will use it to testify of who He is, so it is with that motivation I need to remain faithful. So today I find the truth of, this work is wrought on His wheel specifically designed for us.....

Terry's folks are coming for a visit on Friday through Monday, the guys want to do something "BIG," I do not know all that entails this adventure and plus weather permitting, we'll just have to see what they pull off!!! Danielle is fitting right in with helping and earning her keep. Her and Bethany fixed our meal last night and for the dessert they served Black Forest Crepes!!! She will be here until the 24th. For those that do not know her mom went to heaven a few weeks before Joel, she had brain cancer. We are seeking to minister and encourage her.

So our "thing " in the evenings now is Volley ball. Last night we had a BIG game. The Gellenbeck family, with their 8 crew, came over (they definitely played before) and we had a great time. Micah will not let us escape this adventure in the evenings. By the evening I was doing better from my "blank day."

Anna once again has taken breath taking pictures for her mother, I Love these pictures of Mercy and Josiah, I will be getting them framed and place them around the home. I am so thankful for her abilities, I am forever glad we have pictures of Joel of everyday that he was in the hospital and ones at home. I look at them often and just marvel that I am really his mommy!

Tomorrow, grocery day again!!!! This time everything will fit....in the van:) I need to go and begin menu preparations and lists for that so until later, blessings to each!!!!

Cindy

Yall always seem to have fancy stuff for supper are there any "lean days" when you just have some "plain ole jane" stuff.. One day when you are not too busy (yeah right) give us a insight as to how much it takes to cook a meal for a big family.. Have you thought about posting recipes of the things that you make.

I know this blog is about Joel but your everyday life is so interesting and I yearn to learn more..I am in my 40's and wish that I could have had a simple life with lots of children, the farm ,etc. But that wasnt Gods plan for my life..so he has sent people like your family to teach the rest of us..

Also on Sundays do you go to church or do you have it at your house.. Are there other families like yours (with lots of children) in your area..

I hope you truly know how much you are BLESSED everyday.. Some families are struggling just to make it with a family of 4 and then I look at yours and see your family THRIVING and SURVIVING... that is what I call "the grace of God"

It is encouraging when we read God's Word for the day and there is a passage that speaks what we need that day.

Anna has a great talent for photography.

I remember when I had crepes for the first time. They are so good.

Sorry to hear that Danielle lost her mother to cancer. I will be praying for her also. I lost my mother to cancer.

I continually pray for you and your family.

Beautiful pics! Anna is undeniably gifted in photography and Mercy and Josiah are gifted in cuteness! :)
What you shared from Ex.10 is very fortifying! It gives vision for victory in every trial, so we may declare the works of the Lord unto others that they too may see His mighty Hand and know that YHWH is the Living God! I need to cling to Him moment to moment, die that He may live through me, and claim the joyous victory over sin, death, and fear that He's wrought! I am resolved...He is the True One, He is the Just One, He hath the Words of Life. What a blessing to be a child of the Sovereign Lord of all!!! I'm so thankful to be His!
I’ll be praying that the guys are able to pull of their big plans! May the Lord bless your day with family and friends!

Our Family has been walking in some hard times. The evil one has attacked us in may ways. We trust in the name of the Lord our God.

I love to read the Psalms that speak on the Lords everlasting faithfulness, Love, no matter that storms may be in our lives. Our God has delivered his people from trials and/or changed HARD hearts of man. From the beginning of time his has done this. God was glorified in the end and his people where blessed. This is true today and will be true forever.

Psalm 56
Psalm 9:10
Psalm 139 (in the way everlasting)
Psalm 22 (I enjoy the very end)
Psalm 37 (The Lord is committed and dedicated)
Psalm 118 (This is the truth)

I want to thank your family for encouraging my wife. She reads your Blog from time to time and is uplifted and encouraged during our hard time. Thank you for your ministry.

During this hard time, and Good times, praise the Lord that he has blessed me with My beloved little helper bride, that is a constant humble blesser. (Proverbs 31:11)"The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil." I HAVE NO NEED FOR SPOIL.

Cindy, I haven't read this post until now.

The word "wrought" made me think of the scripture in Psalm 45:

The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

God is doing a work inside you and making you glorious within. And he is weaving into your life something imperishable, a great treasure. Gold in the scriptures always refers to something that is purified by fire, and that is what is happening to you:

He knoweth the way that I take, and when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job)

He is changing you to be more like him, Cindy!

The word wrought makes me think of something that is done with great purpose and attention to detail. Know that God has every smallest detail in his hand and he is making something beautiful out of your life.
