garden

The garden is doing well so far!!! Last year was our worst year, lack of rain amongst the heat!! But this year it is looking like one of the best! Thankfully!! The plants are big and healthy!! I hope the Lord continues to have mercy
And allows a good harvest! I think of our 50+ tomatoes plants last year, we had mayBE a handful of tomatoes! This year looks more promising! Of course we take much of the produce to Farmers Market starting this Saturday! Hope to see all you locals there!! We will have potatoes, green beans and onions this time and all the crafts the children have made!! By the next one hopefully cucumbers too!!

Busy summer ahead with softball every Friday night, Farmers Market every Saturday and camps that the older ones are getting opportunities to be counselors, plus a fishing derby next weekend, plus weekend guests on the 9th, 15th and 22nd weekend...... I think we can say we are booked up!! Hahah!!!

Have a great Wesnesday!!

DIY

Andrew and I made some chalkboards to sell at Farmers Market starting next Saturday, (every Saturday through the summer!!) We will be there!!!

I went to a thrift store and gathered various sizes of picture frames for little of nothing. Andrew removed all the classic photos and paintings!! Ha! Next we primed the frames and I selected bright colors that look like summer! Love the ocean blue!!

For the chalkboard, after reading up in chalkboard making, Masonite board was the suggested material. At home, Andrew cut the board to fit each frame using the old photos in the frames as a guide. We primed the boards and then painted with chalkboard paint using a brush. Let it set for 24 hours then lightly sanded and put a second coat on. After two coats of chalkboard paint, we rubbed a piece of chalk across the board and then erased it off. Lastly we put the boards back into the frames, secured with some staples and I plan on gluing some brown paper on the back of the frame.

Cute for sitting on your counter in an easel of hang on the wall! We have two more projects to complete this week, one that Hosanna is doing and one that josh and Jeremiah are doing! They are little entrepreneurs!!!

Have a great day!!

I love......

I love summer, hot, sunny days, blue skies, the smell of coconut and sun screen, bright beach towels, popsicles, pineapples, bright straws in cold drinks in a real glass, flip-flops, the smell of chlorine, crisp clear pool water, air-mattresses piled up awaiting, unsweetened iced tea, sitting on the deck, bright colored kid swimsuits, I just love everything about summer!! Can you tell? The only thing I'm missing is tons of sand!! I'm so glad heaven is spoke of as being a paradise..... cause I will fit right in!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day! Thank the Lord for so many that gave, fought and died for the freedoms we have! Bless the families too, as they also remember loved ones that are in eternity already!

Have a great weekend!!

Ellie!!

We have a guest for a little bit!! Ellie!!! I know she will enjoy having a blog post named after her!! Haha!!! All the way from Maryland she came!! Funny we keep exchanging people from Oklahoma to Maryland!!! I guess I will have to be satisfied with that! :) maybe someday I will eventually get "those Maryland" people back to Oklahoma, all of three of them.

Yay for today!!! Our first day of "no school!!" So proud of all them for working hard this school year! It really was our best school year! Now for summer fun, projects and plans!!

Still very thankful for all the work the Lord continues to bring our family construction business! Just to think of 5 years behind us and seeing God provide all that time! What a mighty God we serve.

I would like to share something from my heart. So many of you have followed us from the birth of this blog. I can not even write with pen and ink the blessing that has been to our family. So many prayers, support, loving us and standing between the gap on our behalf. And I have no doubt many of you still pray for us on a regular basis. Thank you!! You have seen our lives, our fun, our hopes, our struggles, OUR FAMILY! I have had many personal messages and emails and everyone of them have been so encouraging, but I know as of late and it's been through the grapevine, that do not support our family now and (even some long time friends) can I make a suggestion for you? If your following our blog and do not support our family can you move on? If when you open our blog and you "gasp" and if your motive is to view our blog to find out what we are doing, what we are wearing, where we are going, then don't you think that's just not sincere? It's like your secretly behind the scenes looking in and then making judgments by all the outward and have no idea where our hearts are. Jesus had many words to say about people like you, Pharisees. I read a verse in Romans.
a while back and I will just end with it.

Romans 2:28-29

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

...and one more, so when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. John 8:7

Thank you for loving us! And bless you to those who find spots in our family!!

Have a great day!!

foto friday!

Not many "foto's!" yesterday was a perfect sunny, very warm day! My kind!! Today is chilly, rainy and dreary....to me but Mercy reminded me that "rain" is good for the garden and it makes the grass grow!" it's a gift to us! Soooo many gifts each day that are given from the Lord! He also blesses us with good gifts that bless us while we are here in our temporary "homes!" Like a good gift of stone to go around our ovens on the wall! Hoping Terry can get it going tomorrow! Like a bunch of "extra" wood leftover from a job and we are making a temporary deck out back. I say temporary because I have a "dream for a BIG one "one" day!!!! One day I hope we can do a deck ALL the way across much of the back of our house with different levels and a HUGE stone outdoor fireplace!! It's ok to dream and pray and wait! But for now we are throwing up a smaller deck with two levels to get us by and have a fun little area for summer!! I want to get a little bistro set and a few chairs and pots and plants and lights and just make it a fun space for early mornings and late evenings and all in between!! What do y'all have planned for summer!?!? Sun and swim is planned for over here!! Yay!!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comets down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

Please continue to pray for Sue!!! Especially this week after chemo. .....and for the bride and groom, Kristen and Caleb! Thank you for making our family a part of your prayers!!

Have a great weekend and lets think "sun!!"

faith.....

I can fix some broken toys. I have sewed up stuffed animals. I have glued things back together. I have replaced special treasures lost. I have bandaged scraped knees. I have wiped smudged faced tears. I have rocked wearisome sick ones. I "helped" fix it!! I helped it to be better! That's when they were little. (and I'm still gladly doing that for ones here) But......I can't "fix" things when miles separate us. One of the easiest seasons of life is when they are all at home, even if there is tons of laundry, dirty dishes, dirty floors, ect. They grow up! They have heart hurts and I wanna fix it for them, but I can't.

Phone calls and texts are my limit!! Hey!!!!! BUT IT'S NOT!!!!! I can go to the throne of grace for them. Now is when they "learn" many things they
embraced at home.....faith. Faith to trust God will come through, faith to rest in His will, faith to believe God has perfect plans designed just for them, faith to pass through "seas" but on dry ground. I can't fix it, but HE can!

.......HE will!!!!

Let Faith Arise { Chris Tomlin}

Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are fortress for the weak

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes
Let faith arise, let faith arise
Open my eyes, open my eyes

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

And I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God
You are faithful, God, forever

Let faith arise
Let faith arise

.......pray, dream, live!!!!
