something new!

Something new..... I am going to make my first blog post using my iPhone!! Yea me!! Its not as fast because I'm not a great typer any way, but we will see how it goes!! The word correction seems like it is working well with all my mistakes but the funny thing is, sometimes it inserts words that I do not even want!! Which could lead to a vey interesting blog!!

Seems like everyday holds new things besides iPhone usage for a blog. I guess the biggest thing I am facing in life now is adjustment to "older" children not really under my wing anymore. I'm so thankful for the men and women they have become. I know they love Jesus, they look to him for each days direction. I know they have a solid foundation of truth from their dad, soooo why do I have any sadness?!? And its not a sadness because of them or at them, its just a sadness at time I guess, they grow up!!! I just miss the way things use to be. I can't stop time, or clip their wings, or wish for selfish purposes, all I can do is treasure the days gone by, enjoy the days to come. I think as I get older I understand many things my own mom said which at the time of youthfulness and young marriedhood I many times just let her words to me go in one ear and out the other! Isn't there a saying "you'll find our one day for yourself." I'm finding it out! There is no turning the clocks back, no rewind, no reverse, it just seems like all there is, is fast forward!! I suppose I'm just mumbling out loud, and I'm on board with all of them, their plans, dreams, futures but the hard part is, a parent is not really in their plans, dreams, future any more, I don't wanna sound all sad about it but it's an adjustment and sort of getting my mind to re-start to this new era. Oh, who knows if this makes sense, let's just say its different! We will make it! I have many that have trod this road before me and they are all loving life, loving how God makes a family bigger by adding wonderful daughter-in -laws and sons-in-laws (and I have fantastic possibilities) and all live happily ever after!! That's all that matters anyway!!

Not alot planned for the weekend! I have purposely not invited folks over, most can not handle the warm temps in the house. But I guess it doesn't bother the young people/adults because someone is always hanging out over here!! But my good friend Natalie and her fam is coming over for burgers tomorrow night, we'll see how "older" people handle it!! I better let you know they are younger than us so she won't be all over that statement! And hopefully Bethany and Micah will be back Sunday I hope!!!!! Daniel is in Kentucky helping Rebekah get moved into school!

Hey I have done it..... Made a post with my iPhone!! I don't think I will use the method often but hey I know it will work if needed!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!

things we eat!!

I have no idea why I was inspired to look in the cookbooks for this two week grocery shopping, but I did!! I have not made these before but they sounded good and very easy. I am kinda in a crux because we hardly all eat together anymore and I thought I might as well try to bless the people that are here with something tasty instead of the same ole' thing we always eat! If I am making a new recipe I like to make it as it says and not alter ingredients......like some people in our house can not stand mayo and sour creme, but sometimes you can not even taste them if its all complied in the dish. Check them out and click onto the links!!!

Baked Southwest Sandwiches

Sausage Sandwich Squares

Cilantro Chicken

Slow Cooked Pepper Steak

Creamy Frozen Mocha Dessert

I still have several I plan to try but these we all tasted and approved by the Morris crew! So that is what we have been eating lately!! Hope you try some and let me know if your family liked them!

I hate to complain about the heat when I am a "heat lover" but this is getting a little outta control!! The temps this week are suppose to be 110-114 around here! At least our tropical plants and cactus are enjoying the house temps. Like Terry said at least we know there will eventually be a break because we are promised summer, winter, springtime and harvest, so Fall will surely bring some cooler stuff!!

I have about figured my new iPhone out!!! I LOVE it!!! Thank the Lord for brilliant minds who create such technologies!! But I think I am in for it with all the apps that little people and (big) people are going to be wanting to use!! :) Oh well, glad they can have fun too!!

turquosie!!!!

canisters, this cute little bird, pillows and I love this
book, The Art of Turquoise sitting on the turquoise recipe holder.........

some more vases and the place mat layed in a tray....

Probably confusing ya aren't I??? Saying I was not going to post as often and now posting, oh well, I was encouraged with your comments, thank you for caring!

Turquoise!!!! I L.O.V.E. this color!! I have been "splashing" it around everywhere!!! I might even paint a door this color!! It is definitely a color that I hope is in heaven, its so peaceful! I have found a new store I like to go to, besides the two regular stops I make at Lorec Ranch and Sante Fe, the new one is the gift store for the Cowboy Hall of Fame in OKC. Someone told me of the western decor they have and they really should not have!! If I ever get the chance to go across the border, I better have a trailer to "load" all the stuff I will want to bring back! I have not gotten any jewelry yet, would love to but it is very expensive!

Bethany and Micah made it safely to Illinois. Bethany is waiting for Danielle to give birth! She has contractions, then they stop!! I gave her some helpful hints but really "there is a time to be born!"

Elijah is healing up fine. He is still off work for another few weeks which is making it very hard for him, he likes to work!! I think he has a better perspective of dangerous adventures now! :)

I talked to Caleb in MD yesterday. A good talk with my son whom I miss very much! He is doing great! Still working for Kristens dad, but that will not last forever so he is def looking for something more permanent. I will have to say, he and Kristen are def in LOVE!!!" So excited for them and what God has in store for them!!

Daniel and Rebekah are doing great too!! I think Daniel is wishing next Thursday would never come!! The day she leaves for Kentucky! I know it will be difficult time for them being apart but I know God will prepare and teach them many things!

Guess that is a pretty good update on the older ones. The younger ones are going and blowing too!! Some are really into the golf. Our pasture has turned into a very crunchy golf course! Still no signif rain. And this week its suppose to hit 110 an d 112 degrees! This is crazy for sure!

Do you remember the Lockwood family, missionaries who live in Mexico? They have just began their furlough until late Dec. So if you think of it, pray for them as they travel all over the US, and Daniel shares, preaches with churches. We will get to finally meet them as they will be passing through late Sept for a visit at our house!

Tonight is vb, so I gotta get my dinner underway, something quick and not intense to fix. I made 4 new recipes this past week. I wanna give you the recipes soon. AND I just go my new iphone in the mail sooooooo I need to go figure it out!! I really need Bethany here!

P.S. oh, guess what else I have been up to this last week and today???? taking care of 7 cats, 4 goats, and 5 dogs.................but they are NOT at our house!!! I drive about 5 miles twice a day and do chores!! It was really suppose to be Bethany's job but she ended up going to Illinois, so I had to pinch hit for her. Its all been fine and I am blessed to receive some extra spending money!! haha!!!

not major.... but timely!!

Not MAJOR like anyone's getting married yet, but, I read this today, so timely for me when so many are going "hither and thither." Bethany and Micah headed to Illinois, of course Caleb still in MD and thats maybe his new residence :) Daniel flying back and forth to Tulsa and soon helping Rebekah get to Kentucky for school ( i hope he comes back, haha) And then today when a few of us are going on a fun outing with friends to nearby Sulphur and Terry can not go because he is working.......we are all not continually together it seems. I'm happy, happy, happy bout everyones agenda's but also its hard, hard, hard! So when I read this devotional this morning about God is continually with me.....it soothed my heart!!

"Nevertheless I am continually with Thee," Ps. 73:23 ( Spurgeon)

Nevertheless, As if, notwithstanding all the foolishness and ignorance which David had just been confessing to God, not one atom the less was it true and certain that David was saved and accepted, and that the blessing of being constantly in God's presence was undoubtedly his. Fully conscious of his own lost estate, and of the deceitfulness and vileness of his nature, yet, by a glorious outburst of faith, he sings,"nevertheless I am continually with Thee." Believer, you are forced to enter into Asaph's confession and acknowledgement, endeavor in like spirit to say "nevertheless, since I belong to Christ I am continually with God." By this is meant continually on His mind, He is always thinking of me for my good. Continually before His eyes; the eye of the Lord never sleepeth, but is perpetually watching over my welfare. Continually in His hand, so that none shall be able to pluck me thence. Continually on His heart, worn there as a memorial, even as the high priest bore the names of the twelve tribes upon his heart for ever. Thou always thinkest of me, O God. The bowels of Thy love continually yearn towards me. Thou art always making providence work for my good. Thou hast set me as a signet upon thine arm; thy love is strong as death, many waters cannot quench it; neither can the floods drown it. Surprising grace!! Thou seest me in Christ, and though in myself abhorred, Thou beholdest me as wearing Christ's garments, and washed in His blood, and thus I stand accepted in Thy presence. I am thus "continually with Thee." Here is a comfort for the tried and afflicted soul; vexed with the tempst within-- look at eh calm without. "Nevertheless" -- O say it is in thy heart an d take the peace it gives. "Nevertheless I am continually with Thee."

I just needed that today.....that no matter who is here, if only a few are with me, God is continually with me!!

See......I posted and it wasn't that long. I guess when I feel like I have something "post worthy" I will post!!

Happy weeekend!!
