the lake

we did a little pre-memorial day fun today!! biking and sun and lotsa wind!!! Lake Hefner has a really cool bike route!!

And the boat and water photo made me think of Jesus. Remeber the scene?

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

thank you!

Have had many emails checking in on our family and wondering if we had any damage with the tornadoes in Oklahoma! Thankfully we did not! The area hit is 50 miles south of us. Please pray for all the families and lives that have been drastically changed! It is sadly astonishing to see all the disaster and so many say that the media can not begin to capture the horrible devastation that is there. It is so encouraging to see Oklahomans doing what they do best...helping and serving and giving! May The Lord restore homes and hearts and families for his glory and his kingdoms sake.

We have had a ton of rain as of late but yesterday was unusually warm and sunny so we took advantage of it and hopped over to some dear friends pool for the afternoon! Josiah assured me that Amelia had 200 Popsicles that she needed to get rid of! I'm sure we made a slight dent! Every time I turned around, they were slurping on one. It was a fun day in the sun. And that's what I'm ready for! SUN!!!!!!

The garden is def enjoying all the rain but hey, we need some happy blue skies! Even Mercy agreed we might to hold off on the praying for rain for a latter date!

A few have asked of there might be any specific things you could pray for our family about and sure, we always can use prayer, who doesn't need it. Anyways, that The Lord would provide work for our construction business. It has been very very very hard the last few months. The repercussions of not having work or much work leads to, well you know how that goes. And we always like to pray for jobs close to home if he is willing! Thank you for even asking and for praying!

Almost done with school around here! Will I ever be glad about that! Everyone has done a good job this year! I am needing a break before I break!! Hahaha!!

Well.... Again thank you for keeping tabs on us! Sometimes I wonder if anyone is out there! Ha!

Have a great upcoming weekend and Memorial Day!

a goodbye....

It's just plain hard to see them go!! But it has to take place! Children grow up into adults! Fact!! I'm especially moved with gratefulness to The Lord because for a time, a season, things were very tough in Daniels life. I didn't know what future he might have or if he would have one in this world. God has been so faithful to see Daniel through his depression and dark time that he walked through. For me, the mom, I was comparing that season that Daniel went through with Joel and his death and I have to say I felt more heartache with Daniel because I literally didn't know what to do except pray. With Joel it was over and I didn't necessarily have to "do" or "fix" something. It was done. So as we have come to the other side, we are very very grateful to The Lord and are super excited for so so many plans/opportunities that God is giving Daniel! Now, he lives passionately with lots of crazy ideas that he wants to do for The Lord! Some people are a bit skeptical! But hey, each one has a passion and his is music for Jesus!! I'm thrilled for him, his dreams his visions! So today, he is flying the skies back to Maryland to take on the world for Jesus!!

imagining....

There is not a day I don't think of Joel! Something reminds me of him every single day. Whether something in nature, the profile of Siah, a smell, a sound, something here in our house but every single time I hear the song "I can only imagine" instantly reminds me of Joel. I guess I have declared that "our song" while he is away. It makes me wonder and envision him doing marvelous things in heaven. Is he dancing today, falling on his little knees, is he chasing other little boys surrounded by His glory, is he shouting hallelujah with his little chubby arms raised and standing tall upon his tiptoes? I am sure I cry every time I hear it. I can only imagine.....
