funnel cake!!

Made some funnel cakes for breakfast.... I think it was a hit!!!

 *****Requested Recipe

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 Tbl sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinn
2 eggs
1 1/2 c milk

heat a skillet with oil, at least 2 inches, med-hot, more to the hot. Mix ingredients in a bowl and then fill a pastry bag, with the batter holding a finger over the tip. (i was going to tell you the tip size i used, but i went to look in the dishwasher and even inquired where it was but it has disappeared!!! Ugh!!!!! I think it was a 12, but it was just a round open one and if your buying one, you can kinda see what size you will need) Once the oil is hot, start in the middle and just circle around and make a design. Allow to brown nicely and then turn over to the other side, it only takes just a few moments!! Then the fun begins.....they get to sprinkle powder sugar on them, or rather LOAD powder sugar on them!! haha!!! Of course best if eaten' ASAP!!!!!

.......oh and the powder-eeeeeee sugar clean up is NOOOOOOOOO fun!!!!! hahaha!!!!

hello May!!

May, June and July are my favorite months!!!! Can you guess why?? Cause it's HOT!!! Course not everybody in our family likes hot weather and a hot house! I love the bright sunny blue skies everyday!!

Monday's..... always a day of lotsa laundry, getting back in the swing of things!!! Recovering from the weekend!!

We have a few more weeks of school, then away with summer we go!! The calendar is basically full!! Hard to believe!! Lots of fun things going on!!

flashback friday!!

Thought I would do a "flashback" Friday!! So many photos I could share!! Looking back through these makes me laugh and cry! Longing for ALL of us to be together! I can't even comprehend all the good times and memories we have made, all the moments together, the laughs, the smiles, birthdays, farm stuff, and oh yes ALL the photos I took!!! But as I ponder all the changes, one thing that has not changed is the Lord!! Looking back at some of their books, it's really a story of his faithfulness in every season of our lives! Now that makes me really wanna tear up!! No matter what life brings, the changes, the trials, and the joys, He is so steadfast with his love, provision, protection!! To see little "bodies" that have become adults now and seeking him..... that's what we have prayed! They are in our homes, our arms for a short while then THEIR journeys begin! I am blessed! I am humbled! I am thankful!

I heard a song yesterday......"what a Wonderful Life!" ...... that's what I have!!!

the rose!

I have talked and shared about this rose almost every year!! It's the rose bush some friends gave us in March of 07 after Joel went to heaven! The first year, 07 it bore ONE rose! The second year it had two roses. I thought that was neat, for twins!! In 2009, 2010 and 2011 it either had ONLY one or two roses!! This year it bore 9 roses. Like Kate pointed out, nine sons, but one of the buds fell early on I guess like Joel! But it has 8 roses in bloom on it right now! Big orange flowers! Just beautiful!! It has been encouraging to see God use His creation to bring comfort!!

......I wonder if one year He might allow 13 roses to be on it???

Hmmm.... I think God likes "bushes.... Remember the burning bush!!! Hehehehe!!!

He comforts the grieving and brings forth and multiplies his mercy's many a fold!! Praising Him today!!!
