a lazy day......

*** I forgot I have been wanting to mention this, Remember the Pendragon movie that Caleb and Daniel worked on composing and orchestrating the music, now they have the soundtrack available. Just for you info and if you decide to purchase one Caleb and Daniel's music would be tracks # 3, 5, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18. You can go here and order if you like or maybe get some as gifts.*****

Surprisingly, today, a Monday is quite "lazy!" Kate came over this morning as Dave has business meetings so we get to "have" Kate for the day and they will stay on board for dinner later this evening.......the famous grilled hamburgers that we eat soooo much!! Not long and we'll be having "goat burgers." We did some school, laundry is going fast as one dryer and one washer will work and now I am helping Siah and Hosie get a tea party together with a mini loaf of bread and butter and some homemade fudge and cinnamon stick tea. At least it is warmer today, but so windy, like major!!

The bunk beds are here and have been slept in two nights. I 'll post a picture of them tomorrow as we needed to pick up some screws for the rails and the ladders. I was surprised that those tiny pieces were not included in the mammoth price!!!:) I really like them, love them!!! I like the rustic look though my dear friend Mrs. B likes the cottage/Victorian look! Maybe I AM a "cowgal" at heart, or its just ALL these boys!!! Bethany, Anna and Hosie are like me in that sense of liking the rustic/farm/outdoorsy decorations. But on one hand I do like sparkly jewelry for myself and shiny little things for Mercy. I still have much I want to do with the room, valances for the windows, I want to get some black/white pictures of Anna's cow, Hosie's goat and put in frames, some other cowboyish stuff for the walls although there is not much wall space available. The beds are huge!! Anyway, tomorrow a picture of the beds for sure.

The guys are split into two crews today. Thats good, it means alot of working happening. They have been working late which is not too fun but they need to get the jobs done and move on to the next one and finish a job so they can get paid, like for food and stuff:) God is faithful! For almost 23 years as of next month, we have have food and clothes, what is promised and I'll have to say showered with MANY good gifts from above other than the necessities.

I know this is very generic but not much happening which I am thankful. Oct. 06 at this time we were in the middle of fevers with Joel, he had good days of play and yet he was weary on many days and we had no idea why at this time. The memories of it all is so painful, I cry still, but I "know" the love of Christ which surpass my knowledge and I seek to rest in that. Joel is always on my mind and heart. There are so many that I read about each day that are in battles of cancer, in hospitals, praying, begging the Lord's mercy on their little ones all of which would love to have a generic day like us again, so I am thankful for the hum-drum!

I know it was a bit before 6pm on announcing the winner, but I have to go fix dinner.....

Have a great weekend!!!

before and after paint samples.....

Finally, some sun shine!!! And I was able to get out there and paint the base boards for the girls room, the last thing. I am pleased with the paint on the walls. I had to return to the paint store several times to get a paint darker, or a glaze darkened, so its been more of a challenge than other paint projects in the past, but its all turned out! How do you like the "new" colors?? Definitely a drastic change. Did you see the chair? I found it a thrift store yesterday for $10. I am painting the wood part black and will hopefully make it a distress look as well!! Hosanna is especially happy about the it and keeps saying,"I have always wanted a little chair!!" Since I had left over primer, I am heading to the bathroom and putting it on the walls. Remember awhile back when I got the new tile in the shower, well the bathroom is still under construction!! I am going to texture the walls and go for the earthy tones in there too. It'll be awhile before its done seeing we still need to tile the floor with the same as in the shower.

Not much longer and we'll announce a winner for the caption contest on the previous post. The picture is at the bottom, so get some more captions in..........

oh, great !!!!!!!!!

Oh, Great........ so now I am married to a SENIOR CITIZEN!!!!!!!!!! Terry calls and was giving me a run down of his McDonald's experience! He ordered all the stuff and was looking at his receipt because it did not sound like much and low and behold they gave him a Senior Citizen discount!!!!!! Oh, my........I know he has some gray hair but this was too much. Micah said," how did they know, they don't know his birthday." I said, " I guess they just LOOKED at him!!" But really, he does not look THAT old, and he certainly has plenty of youthfulness in his behavior, it just had to be the woman behind the counter not seeing straight.....or something!!!! Oh, well, gave us all a laugh anyway.

It has been raining here for a week or more and boy does it set you mood and spirits to "low." Hope to get some sun for the weekend says the weather man!! So that means I need something to cheer us all up. Lets "Name a Photo!!" Check the picture out below and come up woth some captions and we'll look em over and announce a winner!! We'll go through Friday the 16th and announce at 6 pm central time! I love giving things away so join us. There are soooo many that are just readers but come on and get in on the fun!!!

Tonight, adventures for sure!!! Dave and Kate are coming over and preparing/cooking dinner for Terry, myself, Andrew, Josh, Jeremiah, Hosie, Josiah and Mercy while all the others head over to our friends the Wilson's for food and fellowship and whatever else they can get into!! I know with Dave here, the littles will be entertained!!

I am about to go put the glaze on the top of the wall, above the chair rail and the walls will be done. I still have to paint the base board but it has been to damp to get in the garage. The beds might be here on Monday!!!

Not much else!! The tractor is doing jobs around here and it is so wonderful to look out across the pasture and see it knowing God's provision!!

Bring the Captions on.......... no anonymous please and as many as you like!!!

painting......

Immersed in painting, almost done, waiting the bunk beds and thinking I am liking the little cowboyish corner that is being created for a bunch of country cowgirls. The bottom of the wall has an undercoat of dark brown with a chocolate glaze rag washed on it, the chair rail is painted black with a distressed look. I figured out how to make it look distressed by rubbing a candle/wax on it and then painting over and where the wax is the paint does not adhere. Then I applied the brown glaze and it certainly looks weathered and old!! I am working on the top of the wall now, its a camel color and I have to put the color wash on it with a bit of darker glaze. Its not a very big room and the wall space will mostly be the bunk beds but I hope to get a small table, distress black look at the same place we got the beds and add some decorations to it since I will not have much area on the walls.

A busy weekend lay behind us, while I was in the middle of painting, I sold a vanity/desk and one of the daybeds in the girls room on Craigslist. Some went to the Tulsa State Fair for the Boer show. It was a really big show. In one class there were 70 entries. Andrew placed 10th in another class of 33. Even that is good! But the best and most exciting happening was Elijah showed our 10buck2 Buck that Bethany got last year and placed 1st. Then he went into the champion drive for yearling bucks and got GRAND CHAMPION!!!! This is a major win for Bethany!! We have one more show in two weeks and that will wrap it up til spring.

We have had some "very more than fall weather" here, too cold for me!! Been sipping lots of coffee!! Pumpkins are strewed here and there and we are all snuggled in the house today! School done, laundry going, dinner in the making and littles playing in the LR with a playmobile town soon to be built!

The guys are hopefully about to finish framing the one house and then on to several other jobs already lined up! So thankful for the work that has been provided. Work means groceries and electricity around here!!!

I was reading in Hebrews this morning, so much just leaped out, but this particular verse did especially. I am so amazed of God's mercy to one as I, so much that still needs change in my life yet He still is working to finish the work that was begun some 27 years ago when I trusted Christ to save me. These people I live with each day know me best and see my inconsistencies and the dross that needs to be melted off and they still like me/love me!! The mercy we do not deserve and the grace needed to become more like Him......what a great Jesus!!!

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he ____________
Heb.11:5

Do you know what goes in the blank??? Do you know what kind of testimony he had? And it happened before he was translated! That means he had an incredible testimony before he died. It says "he pleased God." I do not always please God, but I want to learn to more and more! I want to "think", if this or that will please Him and seek to make decisions based on desiring this testimony for my own life. We all have areas that we know ourselves and are seen by others that need change and then there are areas that maybe are not so visible but maybe lie in our hearts that need change. In the visible and invisible I want God to continue His work in me and by his grace grant somewhat a testimony as Enoch. May He do that in all our lives and through His power may the "blank" be filled in with "that we please God."

Stay warm......

.......and doesn't she look like Joel?????
