My step mother Shirley still needs a lot if prayer and my dad. She has been moved to a rehab facility and my dad is now able to stay at home and visit her during the designated hours. Shirley is still not speaking and if she does/can it is very minimal. A very tough situation. I ask my dad what the Dr. thinks the future holds as far as recovery and he said only time will tell how much of the brain will recover and it has a lot to do with her will, and desire. She doesn't have an appetite either. She has to have assistance with moving to a chair or even taking a few steps. It's just so hard to hear that there has not been much progress and knowing that the communication is limited. Can you imagine? My dad is being so brave and trying to trust The Lord but it's definitely a challenge. Their lives have been altered. Their routines have been changed. Their mornings and evenings and afternoons are different now. Please as you think about it, pray God would restore Shirley's brain, speech and heal her brain. Pray for Shirley's spirit. It is down and depressed. Pray she gets initiative and desire and a will to press on. Basically she has to start all over, as if a baby/child learning to speak again.
Thank you for thinking and praying. She is a dear woman. I just look around my house and remember their visits and how Shirley loved to watch me cook and we would talk and talk over "dinner cooking!" She enjoyed visiting with the kids and hearing all their stories.
May The Lord hear our pleas.....

Had a fun weekend with the Gentleman of the Road stop over in Guthrie. We had the farmers market downtown Friday and Saturday. We sat up at 9 am and stayed until 9pm and then Saturday we sat up at 8am and stayed until 9:00 pm. Sooooo I am pooped!! Today from noon until we closed up it was only me, hosie and siah. some were at the concert and some were in Wichita for a meeting. but we had fun and met tons of people and sold tons of water bottles. Like we made right close to $600 just on selling water. or rather Elijah and Micah did! Haha!! Hosie and I sold muffins and did well and terry sold produce and did good too! A very very tiring weekend. Plus I baked for our favorite coffee shop Hoboken!! Haha!!!
hope everyone had a great weekend and if you came to Guthrie, wow, soooo many folks! Unreal!!!!

What a gorgeous day today. It has this certain smell that reminds me of long ago when the kids were younger. When they are little we want them to be older and when they are older we want to go back in time. BUT for today we are just enjoying this incredible day with afternoon tea.
Please keep praying for Shirley. She is able to sit in a chair and she does eat some. My dad is being such a trooper and staying mostly at the hospital day and night. I so hope God sees in his plan to restore Shirley and they can continue to enjoy active days together. It will be a long road ahead for her to get at home.
